Western Kenosha County Tennis Association to host open houses
Western Kenosha County Tennis Association will be hosting two open house this month to explain their youth programs.
The open houses will be:
- Saturday, March 20, 2 to 4 p.m., at Tremper High School, Kenosha.

The Central Falcon boys basketball team visited Verona Saturday in the regional final Saturday.
Central got off to a slow start due to the physical defense employed by the Wildcats. Verona jumped out to a 15-4 first quarter start on precision passing and three-point shooting. Central to host UW-Extension gardening seminar
A "Spring Into Gardening Seminar" will be held Saturday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at Central High School in Paddock Lake. The daylong seminar features a choice of 15 gardening classes.
Topics include vegetable gardening, rain barrels, organic lawn care, composting, flower gardening and more.
Class size is limited. Fee is $30. Cost includes four classes and soup and salad lunch.

A reconsideration of an earlier action to eliminate salaries for Central High Schools Board members will go before district electors next week.

It looks like the Central High School District will not have to build a roundabout at its new Highway 83 entrance/exit after all.
School officials said at a School Board meeting Tuesday the state appears to be agreeing to the district building a t-intersection without having to upgrade the Highway 50 and 83/75 intersection. In the past, the state had contended the district could only avoid the Highway 50 and 83/75 intersection improvements by building a roundabout at the entrance/exit.

Cheerleading squads from Wilmot and Central high schools competed in the Southern Lakes Conference Championship on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Delavan-Darien High School.
Here are the results for the varsity squads:
- 3rd Place - Waterford.
- 2nd Place - (Tie) Westosha Central and Delavan-Darien.
- 1st Place - Wilmot.
Falcons top Panthers in boys basketball
The Central Falcons boys hosted the Wilmot Panthers on Friday, in the first of their two games this season. The Falcons emerged victorious 63 to 56.
After a rousing rendition of the National Anthem by Central senior Sean Pitts on saxophone, the crowd was treated to an exciting high school basketball game. The crowd was loud on both sides of the gym cheering on their schools.

Cheerleading squads from Wilmot and Central high schools will be competing in their conference meet this Saturday.
The meet will be held at Delavan-Darien High School.

The Central High School Falcons were hosted by the Brookfield East Spartans Tuesday night in the second game in the Lavern Luebstorf Christmas Tournament.

Couple recognized for work to get tennis grant
Central High School's tennis coaches Pat and Paul Brings were recently recognized by the School Board for their contributions to the school's fledgling tennis program.
The couple, who started the school's tennis programs and also started a community tennis organization, worked with the United States Tennis Association to apply for a grant to help build facilities, said Kris Allison, athletic director. The school received $35,000 towards its new court, which are under construction.

Paddock Lake won’t do memo of understanding on Central HS entrance project
The Paddock Lake Village Board will not sign a memorandum of understanding regarding road improvements related to Central High School's new exit/entrance project.
The decision not to sign any memo regarding the work was affirmed with a unanimous vote at Wednesday night's Village Board meeting. Trustee Chris Bucko was not present.
The vote followed a nearly one-hour long closed session.

Well last night was no exception as the undefeated Central Falcons girls hosted the winless Wilmot Panthers in Paddock Lake.
