The annual Bristol Progress Days Parade took place this afternoon. There was plenty of candy thrown — as always — and lots of interesting entries. Haley May is 2011 Miss Bristol
Haley May was named this year’s Miss Bristol at the annual Progress Days banquet this evening. Third runner up was Kathryn Wade. Second runner up was Angela Mitak. First runner up was Madeline Clark, who also won Miss Congeniality. Other contestants were: Stephanie Blazich and Joelle Epping. Here is some video of the big moment:

Progress Days committee offering reward for return of pedal tractor
The Bristol Progress Days Committee is offering a $250 reward for the return of its pedal pull tractor. The tractor was painted blue and had “Bristol Progress Day” on its side when it disappeared last year just before the annual community festival. Bristol Progress Days to feature softball
A fast-pitch softball tournament is one fo the regular features of Bristol Progress Days weekend. There will be softball action on the diamond at Hansen Park all three days of the festival. This year, Friday night will include a new event. An old timers game has been organized and will be played on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
