Sheriff David Beth has lifted the State of Emergency at the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department effective at 9 a.m., Sgt. Bill Beth, Sheriff’s Department spokesman, said.
A National Weather Service wind chill advisory continues until 10 a.m. today. The NWS forecasts a high near 17 today. Wind chill values could be between -10 and -20, wind between 10 and 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph.
Just a reminder about this week’s garbage collection in Bristol. Due to the storm, John’s Disposal will not be picking up residents’ garbage on Thursday. Garbage pickup for this week only will be on Friday, Feb. 4. That will give you an extra day just to dig out your bin!
Deputies out and about on county and state highways West of the I this morning are reporting several areas that are down to one lane. Some roads continue to be far from normal. For example, at 7:22 a.m., a joint services dispatcher just reported to a deputy that Highway U in Bristol has only one passable lane, which cars are trying to use going both north and south, causing a hazardous condition. Some new cars off the road are still being reported as well.

At about 12:45 p.m., eastbound Highway 50 is being blocked at Highway 83 due to a semi tractor trailer trapped in the intersection. The semi was making a right turn from Highway 83.
How much snow did we get last night? The National Weather Service is estimating at least 15 inches of snowfall. As an aside, the drifting has completely wiped out any place here I usually measure snow from at West of the I HQ.
