Master Gardener Volunteer Level 1 Training to be offered

Master Gardener Volunteer Level 1 Training for Racine and Kenosha County will be offered on Thursdays at 1 to 4 pm from Aug. 16 through Nov. 1.

The locations will alternate each week between the Kenosha County Center in Bristol and the Ives Grove Office Complex in Sturtevant.

The training fee is $150.

The training will be taught using flipped instruction, meaning participants will view online videos and read chapters from the training manual prior to each session. Interactive activities are offered at the weekly in-person sessions.

Orientation for the training is scheduled for Thursday, July 12 at 1 pm at the Ives Grove Auditorium, and at 3 pm in the hearing room at the Kenosha County Center. Application materials will be available at orientation.

The Master Gardener Volunteer Program is a state-wide program of the University of Wisconsin-Extension. Master Gardeners receive horticulture training from UW-Extension specialists and staff. In return for their training, Master Gardener Volunteers assist their local County UW-Extension office in educational programs and horticulture projects which enhance the community.
