Units on scene of fire in Wheatland

At about 11:25 a.m., multiple fire department units are on the scene of a fire in the 4600 block of Highway 83 in Wheatland.

Fire scene appears to be near a farm. State Patrol blocking access to the site via northbound Highway 83.

UPDATE 11:39 a.m. — Kenosha County Scanner Facebook page is reporting that this fire was reported about 10:35 and includes buildings on a farm and the fields surrounding. Several levels of Box Alarm activated.

UPDATE 11:45 a.m. — Kenosha Fire Investigation Task Force dispatched to respond to the scene.

UPDATE 11:46 a.m. — Per dispatch: Tender (water tanker) task force being organized.

UPDATE 12:51 p.m. — The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has issued the following news release: On 05-01-18 at approximately 10:32 am, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department as well as numerous Fire Agencies responded to a report of a barn fire at 4602 State Highway 83. The fire is believed to be from natural causes. Reportedly, all animals from the barn were removed to safety prior to expansion of fire. Fire and Law Enforcement are still on scene as of 12:45 p.m.

UPDATE 4:13 p.m.– Per dispatch: Wheatland command strikes box alarm. Some mutual aid units being released to return to quarters.
