Flood update: Fox continues to recede; under 13 feet

The Fox River as measured at the New Munster gauge continues to recede and is under 13 feet, the National Weather Service designation for moderate flooding.

The river first went under 13 feet Thursday evening. At 4 a.m. Friday, it was at 12.7 feet.

A flood warning continues.

There is more rain in the forecast for Friday, but a total of less than a tenth of an inch is expected. Precipitation starting as rain and then becoming snow is expected Saturday night.

Temperatures will be warmer, with highs in the 40s through Thursday, except Tuesday when it may top 50.
