Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue service area burning ban lifted

The burning ban in effect for areas served by Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue has been lifted as of Oct. 11.

Recent rain was sufficient enough to lessen the dry and hazardous conditions, said Salem Lakes Fire Chief Mike Slover in a news release issued Wednesday afternoon.

Residents are reminded to perform burning in accordance with their local municipality’s ordinance. Currently the department covers three municipalities (Salem Lakes, Paddock Lake and Brighton) with different burn ordinances.

If you are unsure about your local ordinance contact the Salem Lakes duty officer by calling 262-620-3880 or your municipality’s village or town hall.
