Highway 45 update Sept. 8, 2017: Lots of work between Highway C and WG (PHOTOS)

Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. Check back every Friday for the latest. — DH

What happened this week (Week of Sept. 4) — Began retaining (MSE) wall installation between 82nd and 83rd St. Began concrete sidewalk and driveways from 83rd to 86th St. Continued final slope grading from County C, working to the north. Continues with final landscape restoration as work progresses. Continued permanent sign installation from County WG to County C. Completed asphalt side road tie-ins and driveways from County WG to County C. Completed asphalt side road tie-ins from 83rd to 86th St. Completed storm sewer pipe and structure installation.

What’s expected to happen next week (Week of Sept. 4) — Complete excavation and base aggregate placement. Begin trimming base aggregate for concrete pavement from 83rd to STH 50. Begin aggregate shoulder installation from County WG to County C. Begin topsoil placement from 83rd to 86th St. Complete concrete driveways from 83rd to 86th St. Continue with final landscape restoration as work progresses. Continue MSE wall installation between 82nd and 83rd St. Complete sign installation from County WG to County C.
