Highway 45 update July 14, 2017: Binder layer between C and 86th Street during Progress Days, more storm sewer installation

Note: With the help of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, we will be telling our readers what work took place on the Highway 45 project in the week just past and what is expected to take place in the coming week. Check back every Friday for the latest.

What happened this week (week of July 10) — Began breaking pavement for base patches from CTH V to CTH C. Began removing Stage 2B pavement from the north limits, working south. Began common excavation for Stage 2A, working south to north. Continued installing storm sewer between 86 th St and 83 rd St. Continued common excavation between CTH JS and CTH C. Continued traffic signal installations at CTH C/USH 45 and CTH WG/USH 45. Village of Bristol communicated to project staff that temporary roads constructed for Bristol Progress Days (local festival 7/7 – 7/9) held up well for the festival and were appreciated.  Heavy rains during the evenings of 7/9 & 7/11 slowed construction progress due to wet conditions the next day

What’s expected to happen next week (week of July 17) — Will slip curb and gutter behind Edgerton earthwork from CTH Q to 196 th Ave. They will also slip the right turn lane at CTH CJ. Will continue installing storm sewer between 86 th St and 83 rd St. Will continue common excavation for Stage 2A and pavement removals for Stage 2B. Will continue common excavation and base agg. placement between CTH JS and CTH C. Will continue traffic signal installations at CTH C/USH 45 and CTH WG/USH 45. Install fence at retaining wall. Begin water main relocates north of 83 rd St.
