A home that damaged a Trevor house Monday afternoon may have started in a garbage container on a rear deck.

No one was injured in the incident.

From a  statement released by Town of Salem Fire/Rescue Chief David “Mike” Slover:

At approximately 1:04 pm, 20 February, 2017 Town of Salem Fire/Rescue was called for a reported structure fire in a residence to the 114 hundred block of 270th Ave. While en-route fire units were advised of flames showing from the rear and the attic of the home by callers to 911 who lived behind the residence. Fire units arrived and confirmed a working fire with flames showing on the rear and one side of the home. One of the occupants of the home arrived just prior to the fire department and was able to confirm along with Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department that all occupants were out of the home. The fire had extended from a rear deck and outside wall up through the eaves and into the attic. The fire was extinguished with no injuries to any personnel. The fire cause is currently undetermined, not suspicious, considered accidental and believed to have started in a rubbish container on the rear deck of the home. The home is not habitable and suffered fire, heat, smoke and water damage. Units were on scene for approximately 2 ½ hours. TSFR had eight units with 25 personnel and was assisted by the Bristol Fire Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and Salem Lakes Public Safety Officers.

  1. Just like writing a check in January says:

It’s really hard to get out of the “Town of Salem” (TSFR) words and into the “Village of Salem Lakes” (VSLFR) words isn’t it??

Gonna be tough for all who write statements and other things but we know it will come after some time.

After all according to Dennis it was at least 174 years of being a Town,
    or was it 175?

    Good times await !!
