Snow update: Latest accumulation forecast; storm warning still in effect

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webThere’s some light snow falling already in Paddock Lake, site of westofthei.com headquarters, but much more on the way, says the National Weather Service.

A winter storm warning remains in effect for Kenosha County from 2 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday.

NWS has some conflicting info on how much snow we will see. The latest local forecast calls for a total of 3 to 8 inches during the storm period. The warning calls for 7 to 11 inches.

The morning snow should stop around 7 a.m. and then resume perhaps as early as noon. The heaviest accumulation of snow is expected between about 6 p.m. Friday and midnight.

While temperatures will be more moderate than the last few days during the snow fall they are expected to plunge starting Saturday night. The high temperature Sunday is expected to reach just -6 and the low Sunday night -16.
