Bristol Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Bristol Fire Department to host community benefit pancake breakfast Dec. 10

bristol-fd-santa-2015-12The Bristol Volunteer Firemen’s Association and Bristol Fire Department will host their Second Annual Pancake Breakfast to be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Bristol Village Hall (19801 83rd St.) from 7 to 11 a.m.

This year’s Pancake Breakfast is taking several steps forward from last year. With your help, attendees will be able to support five organizations dedicated to assisting those in need while enjoying great food and fantastic entertainment.

Admission for each attendee will be two nonperishable food items or one unwrapped toy. All nonperishable food items will be donated to The Sharing Center (which serves as Kenosha County’s basic needs resource center and Food Pantry) and all toys will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program, which has distributed gifts to less fortunate children each holiday season for nearly 70 years. In addition, all attendees will have the opportunity to create a holiday card that will be provided to beneficiaries of the KAFASI Meals on Wheels program, which daily provides meals to 250 of our elderly, sick and disabled neighbors throughout Kenosha County.

To top off a wonderful pancake breakfast, baked goods will be available with all proceeds going to the Bristol Grade School’s Adopt-A-Family program. Any unsold goods will be donated to the Westosha Senior Center, which serves to enhance the dignity, the independence and the engagement of senior citizens within our communities.

Activities for attendees of all ages will be taking place throughout the morning, including:

  • Westosha Central High School’s exuberant Concert Choir will perform during breakfast in the Village Hall.
  • Jazz Central (Westosha Central High School’s student jazz band) will perform in the apparatus bays at 11 a.m.
  • Santa and Sparky will be making an appearance for our young guests and photos with Santa available from 8 to 11 a.m.
  • Fire station and apparatus tours will be conducted by department personnel.

This event is founded upon donations from the community, and the department and association remain in need of any donations that individuals or organizations are willing to offer. If you or your organization would like to donate, please contact Station 52 at 857-2711, or e-mail brst52pio@gmail.com.
