Silver Lake Beats community festival is Aug. 13

The Silver Lake Beats community festival will take place Aug. 13.

Activities will take place from 2 p.m. to midnight at Schmalfeldt Park in Silver Lake.

Here is a rundown of the entertainment:

  • 2 p.m. — DJ 733rd .
  • 5 p.m. — Karaoke by DJ Magic.
  • 8 p.m. — Burro Creek.
  • Dusk – Fireworks over Silver Lake.

From 2 p.m. to close, Kaye Brothers Carnival will have bounce houses, a giant slide, rock climbing wall, few other rides, pay for games and food stands. Tickets are $1 each with 3-5 tickets per ride. They are also offering a wristband for $20 from 2-5.

Boy Scouts will be selling meat sticks, candy and bottled water from 2 to 7 p.m. Concessions also will be available from Bulldogs Football from 2 p.m. to close. There also will be games by the Community Baptist Church separate from carnival and Barrel Train Rides also separate from the carnival.

The beer tent will be open 2 to 11:59 p.m. Tickets will be $1 with alcoholic beverages for 4 tickets and bottled water for 2 tickets.

The morning of Aug. 13, the Western Kenosha County Recreation is hosting a Color Run and brunch. People can register for those events on the WKCR website, http://www.wkcrec.com/.

Silver Lake Beats was organized by the village’s park committee.

    What happened to the 4th of July when this event used to occur funny what appears to be unaffordable then is no longer the case no wonder people are leaving left and right around here it’s all the under the table back room maneuvering that goes on that leaves people scratching there head!!!
