A three-day workshop series is being held for farm women who are interested in improving their farm financial management skills, part of the fabric of farm life and the farm business. This series will be interactive between speakers and participants, with in-class exercises to assist in learning about farm financial management and opportunities to network with other women.

Topics presented will include an introduction to the financial management model, records and recordkeeping systems, types of financial statements, analysis and interpretation of financial statements, benchmarking of financial position and performance, and financial decision-making tools.

Speakers will include Nate Splett, Professor Emeritus, Department of Agricultural Economics at UW-River Falls; Jenny Vanderlin, Assistant Director of the Center for Dairy Profitability; Kristine Ely, Agriculture Educator, Walworth County UW–Extension and Leigh Presley, Agriculture Educator, Racine/Kenosha County UW–Extension.

The workshops will be held Thursdays, March 3, 10, and 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gateway Technical College – Burlington Center.  Each day will cover a different subject, building on content from the previous session.  Registration is $60 total and includes snacks, lunches and educational materials for all three days.  Class size is limited to 15 participants.  Find the registration form or register online at walworth.uwex.edu/2016/01/15/ annies-project-financial- management-workshop-series.
