Village President Terry Burns created the new village logo.

The Paddock Lake Village Board has approved a new logo for the village.

The vote on the logo at Wednesday’s board meeting was 4-1, with Trustee Kathy Christenson voting against and Trustee Gary Kaddatz absent.

The new logo was designed by village President Terry Bruns. It shows some wooden boats on the lake channel and was inspired by a photo postcard in the village’s historic display at Village Hall, another Burns project.

Burns said he feels the new design better reflects the lake community vibe of the village than the old logo, which he criticized as “hodge podge.”

“It hit on all of the points I was looking for,” Burns said of the new logo.

While he is not a designer by trade, Burns said he does operate a company that imprints graphics on glassware and promotional projects and therefore he owns sophisticated graphics software he used to make the logo. The development of the logo was donated to the village.

The new logo will be placed on village vehicles eventually. The new logo will replace the old one on other supplies, such as stationary, when they need to be replaced.
