James Hyllberg named Westosha Central High School varsity boys basketball coach

Westosha Central High School has named James Hyllberg the new varsity boys basketball coach.

Hyllberg takes over the program following the resignation of Mikel Mala as a math teacher from the district.

Hyllberg brings an extensive knowledge of basketball to the program, said athletic director Jonathon Lindh. Hyllberg played two years of college basketball at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. He has spent over 13 years coaching basketball at various levels.  Hyllberg works as a Dean of Students for Kenosha Unified School District and possess the ability to connect with a variety student/athletes. Hyllberg resides within the district and is looking to make a long term investment as the boys basketball head coach at Westosha Central.

Hyllberg will be hosting a parent/athlete meeting on Oct. 28, at 6 p.m., in the All Purpose Room. At this meeting Hyllberg will introduce himself, discuss player/parent expectations and explain his coaching philosophies. This meeting is mandatory for any student who wishes to tryout for boys basketball this upcoming season.
