WisDOT to restart intersection work at Highway 50 and Highway 12

road-workThe Wisconsin Department of Transportation has announced the start of road work a little over the county line in Walworth County that you might want to be aware of when you travel west on Highway 50:

Beginning Monday April 6, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to recommence work on the US 12/WIS 50 interchange, in Walworth County. Single lane closures in both directions of US 12 will begin on Monday, to prepare for shifting traffic onto the eastbound side of US 12. The traffic switch will occur in the early stages of the project. The project began in spring of 2014. The contractor, Super Western, plans on completing the project in late summer of 2015. The schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.

2014 work completed:

  • Replaced US 12 eastbound bridge over WIS 50.
  • Replaced US 12 eastbound loop ramp to WIS 50.
  • Reconstructed approaching roadway to bridge and ramps on US 12 eastbound.
