Units responding for field fire in Wheatland

At about 5:30 p.m., Town of Wheatland Fire Department, Silver Lake Fire Department and Silver Lake Rescue Squad units and sheriff deputies are responding to a report of a field fire in the 32700 block of 45th Street in Wheatland.

Per dispatch: Fire reported by a passerby as being on the south side of the road.

UPDATE 5:34 p.m. — Per dispatch: Fire from burning that got out of hand. Fire area is estimated to be 25 feet by 25 feet.

UPDATE 5:37 p.m. — Wheatland FD command on the scene estimates fire size to be about half an acre.

UPDATE 6:01 p.m. — Wheatland FD command requests Randall Fire Department respond with a grass rig and ATV.

UPDATE 6:17 p.m. — Wheatland FD command requesting addtional grass rigs from Town of Burlington Fire Department and Kansasville Fire Department.

UPDATE 6:19 p.m. — Kansasville FD being released from response.
