The Randall Town Board is going out to bid for uniform address signs that are designed to make it easier for police, fire and rescue personnel to find a specific addresses.

The board has budgeted $45,000 for the project of having the signs made and installed. The two-sided, reflective signs will be installed in a uniform location on every improved lot in the town.

The town will be picking up the cost of the signs and installation, with no additional fee charged to property owners, town Chairman Bob Stoll said.

Board members present Thursday (Supervisors Randy Kaskin and Lauren Fox were absent) seemed to prefer a 20 inch by 8 inch design that should allow the town name, address number and street name to be displayed on the signs.

Stoll suggested the bid leave the question of the color of the sign to be determined.

Western Kenosha County towns that already have some sort of sign like this include Wheatland, Salem, Paris and Brighton.
