The 2015 Scouting for Food Drive conducted annually by the Boy Scouts Nationwide and locally by the Three Harbors Council will be taking place in March.
Three Harbors Council includes Kenosha and Racine counties and the greater Milwaukee area.
On Saturday, March 14, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Crews will distribute collection bags for non-perishable food items and other grocery store non food items among the homes of residents throughout Kenosha and Racine counties. Food bags will be hung on the front door handles of homes.
On Saturday, March 21, Scouts will collect the food bags from the front porches of residents’ homes. The collection will begin at 9 a.m. and will end at noon. In addition, there will be Scouts accepting donations of non-perishable food items outside several major grocery stores throughout the area.
The collected food items will then be delivered to these food pantries that serve the needy. These pantries are for Kenosha and Racine counties only. The goal is to collect well over 250,000 items.
If the bag left on your doorstep is mistakenly not picked up it can be dropped off directly to a one of these locations: The Sharing Center- Trevor, Love Inc.-Burlington, Norway Lutheran Church-Wind Lake, St. Thomas Aquinas- Waterford, Twin Lakes Food Pantry, Union Grove Food Bank, St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, Central United Methodist -Waterford. Head Start Food Pantry.
