At 12:30 p.m., Paddock Lake Public Works Department workers and a crew from Wanasek Corp. are on the scene of a water main break in the 23700 block of 63rd Street in Paddock Lake.

Village administrator Tim Popanda said the break was reported by a resident.

Crews have been working to try to locate valves that could contain the effect of the break, Popanda said. That job has been complicated by having to shovel piles of snow off of the locations of the valves.

Until the effect of the break is isolated, users throughout the system may be experiencing low water pressure or no water at all, Popanda said.

The village also is working to determine if boil orders will need to be issued and for what users. People who need to observe a boil order should expect to be notified by the village, Popanda said.

The village’s water system serves about 330 customers on the east side of the lake.

At about 12:30 p.m., water could clearly be seen running down the ditch on the south side of 63rd Street as well as on the road itself.

Locations with private wells in the village are not affected.
