Wind chill advisory and chance of snow on Friday

WEATHER-ALERT-logo-all-3-webSeems to me I remember time when you usually only had to deal with extreme cold weather or snow, but rarely both on the same day. There was a trade-off. If it was bitter, at least you didn’t have to shovel. If the snow was flying, at least it was over 25 degrees out.

Not so for Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Friday, starting at 1 a.m. and lasting until 10 a.m. Wind chill values could be as low as -10 to -20.

There’s also a 70 percent chance of snow Friday and a 50 percent chance of snow Friday night in the forecast. Accumulation of less than one inch is expected.

Saturday is still the balmy day of the week with a high of 30. Then it’s back into the single digits to teens, except for Tuesday when it might get to the mid 20s.
