Community leader Alva Paddock dies

Alva Clarence Paddock, a leader in the community that bears his family name and throughout Western Kenosha County, died Wednesday.

He was 85.

Paddock was a charter member of the Westosha Kiwanis Club, a former Paddock Lake village trustee and held other offices in Salem and Kenosha County. He operated Paddock State Farm Insurance in Paddock Lake and was a member and former officer of the Schultz-Hahn American Legion Post 544, Silver Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main Street (Rte. 83) Antioch. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Salem. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Westosha Kiwanis Club are greatly appreciated.
