Strong thunderstorms headed this way

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for our area that says strong thunderstorms are heading our way.

According to the statement, the storm is moving east at 45 mph. It is expected to be over Twin Lakes by 10:15 a.m. and Paddock Lake by 10:30 a.m.

UPDATE 10:22 a.m. — Twin Lakes dispatch syas they have received a report of a tree down at Burlington and West Main. Tree down on wires but no arcing observed. Police officer responding along with Public Works Department crew.

UPDATE 10:26 a.m. — TLPD officer at above seen reports no wires across road.

UPDATE 10:31 a.m. — Much of Lake County, Illinois under severe thunderstorm warning until 10:45 a.m.

UPDATE 10:35 a.m. — Heavier rain now in Paddock Lake.

UPDATE 10:43 a.m. — TL DPW has cleared the road from above downed tree.

UPDATE 10:47 a.m. — Silver Lake Police officer reports a low hanging branch along Cogswell drive that could be close to falling into the roadway.
