The Aquanuts competed at the 48th annual Wisconsin Water Ski Show Championships in Wisconsin Rapids, on Lake Wazeecha July 17-20.

This year 24 teams from around the state came to show off their talents, and sense of humor, for some wholesome family entertainment.

The Aquanuts are skiing within the theme of “Land of the Lost Nut”, combining the humor of Aquanut Labs and time machine travel, back to the 1970s and placing second in Division 1. This is their best performance since 2005.

Again the Aquanut Ladies were in top form with their incredible ballet line, quick-pick with 28 girls skiing in unison, placing first among the ballet lines. Swivel Ladies Kendall Krieger and Kaila Coffey placed first and second in the individual swivel competition held on Thursday. Placing 1&2 was an Aquanut “first”. The Back Barefoot Circle Act, performed by Kailey Koehler, (#3 world ranked barefooter), sister Ariana Koehler and Collin Barber was the highest scoring barefoot act at the competition. Kendall Krieger was also named the “Jennifer Dibble-Woods/Michelle Cook Award” for outstanding female skier. This is an award the ladies of the Aquanuts have held for three years in a row.

The boys of the team cannot be left out. The Aquanuts have three former Mark Black Trick skiers on the water during their show, who demonstrated flips and hand turns, second to none — Jarad Meyer, Aaron Nelson and Dan Amir. The team also performed, prefabricated pyramids, grand pyramids, doubles, swivel, and jump acts to round out their show.

Aquanut Shows are Wednesday and Saturdays at 6 p.m. on Lake Mary (Lance Park) in Twin Lakes.
