The Salem Town Board has agreed to perform building inspections for Twin Lakes and Bristol.
The two separate agreements were approved by the Town Board at Monday’s regular monthly meeting.
Salem town administrator Patrick Casey said over the six months the contract will cover that the arrangement will bring about $9,000 to the town.
Both agreements were approved unanimously.
Bristol will be paying “$560 monthly to the Town of Salem, plus pay an additional $35 per hour for each hour over the 16 maximum service hours and an additional $35.00 per hour for each hour of other zoning support services performed by Salem at the request by Bristol during the preceding month. Bristol town administrator Randy Kerkman will also continue to do some inspecting.
Twin Lakes will be paying $1,516.66 monthly to Salem, plus an additional $40 per hour for each hour over 50 service hours. Twin Lakes is requesting more services than Bristol, Casey said.
The Twin Lakes Village Board approved a version of the contract but anticipates having to approve it again due to a small change Salem initiated, said Jennifer Pollitt, Twin Lakes village administrator.
The Bristol Village Board approved the agreement contingent on review by their attorney.
