Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences sophomore Grant MacKinnon of Salem, received the Robbie Award during the Department of History’s Annual Honors Banquet April 24. The Joseph R. Robbie Awards are given to the outstanding first year student in each section of the required introductory history course through the generosity of the late Joseph Robbie. The award recipients will receive a book and their name engraved on the Joseph R. Robbie plaque located in the student lounge of the Department of History. Robbie was the founder and owner of the NFL Miami Dolphins, he received an honorary Ph.D. from Creighton and his daughter and granddaughter both graduated from Creighton’s College of Arts and Sciences. Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., enrolls 4,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate and professional students among nine schools and colleges.
