Members of the Central High School and Tremper High School girls soccer teams and their supporters are participating in the annual Go Pink! Central/Tremper Soccer Event and Walk Friday.
Students raised money to participate in the event. Money raised will go to women living in Kenosha and Racine counties who have applied for the Go Pink! grants.
The day started with the Tremper and Central students gathering at Central for a pep rally. Students and other walkers then left Central with two Kenosha County Sheriff Deputy escorts guiding them down county highways to Andersen Field. During the walk, students had the opportunity to use a coach bus for the purpose of taking breaks and using the bathroom.
At Andersen, there will be a tailgate party with music, food and other activities. The JV and varsity soccer games between Tremper and Central will follow.
At halftime of the varsity game, all students who participated in the walk will be asked to join in the presentation of grants to each recipient determined by the committee. A “Pink Firework” display will begin when the game concludes.
