Bristol Village Board approves purchase of land for park expansion

In the map above, Hansen Park is just east of 200th Avenue (Highway 45) and south of 86th Place. The land to be purchased is just south of the park.

The Bristol Village Board has accepted an offer to purchase land that will be used for an expansion of Hansen Park.

The village will pay $18,000 per acre for just under 30 acres.

About $150,000 of the approximately $500,000 total cost will be covered by impact fee collected by the village from developers, said Randy Kerkman, village administrator. The rest of the money will be internally borrowed from village reserves and paid back to that fund.

Plans already made for the property call for a ball field complex to be developed on the land. A timeline for actually developing the property along those lines has not been created yet, Kerkman said.
