The first Silver Lake Citizens In Action clean up of the year was a great success on Sunday.

Some of the more unusual items found by the volunteers included:

  • 12 bowling balls.
  • Dead raccoons at the DNR launch.
  • Booze containers that appeared to be tossed out of a car window before entering town.

“Most of all, we found a bunch of great residents that do care about how our village looks and were willing to get down and dirty to help beautify it!” said event organizer Allen Dunski of Silver Lake Citizens In Action

In fact, Sunday’s event was such a success that  another clean up has been scheduled for April 27, Dunski said. Those interested in helping should meet at the Silver Lake Fire Department at noon.

A great job by everyone…congrats to Allen, Jo, and everyone else that helped with this event….lots of tired feet at the end of the day….but well worth the effort. For those folks unable to attend that day, the April 27th event is a good chance to help out. Well done!

It is funny that when something good happens n Silver Lake there is no one to comment, but there is always someone to say something negative. I think it is a great thing to see people come together to help this little village in the midst of all this upset. We all came together to do a good thing and I am proud to be a part of it. Maybe at the next one we can get more people to come together! Great Job Guys!!!!

My apologies Mr. Punsley. When I had written my comment, there were none to read. I am glad that there are some out there that can recognize the good that caring people do for this Village.

@Sabrina…..not a problem….it was nice to see you out helping with the event..I concur with your assessment that we need more POSITIVE comments about the good things happening in our village. A well run event….hope to see more folks at the next one….we all will benefit from the “sweat equity”!!!

Looking forward to seeing a lot of folks show up at the fire station on Sunday, April 27th for the second clean up event. A chance for all of us to take a positive step to help our village help ourselves. See you there!
