Burning not recommended now in Kenosha County, says DNR

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is rating southeastern Wisconsin, including Kenosha County, as “high” risk for wildland fires, due to current conditions.

A rating of high means: “Dangerous conditions—fires difficult to control. Burning not recommended.”

The Silver Lake Fire Department chief has banned burning in that village as of today until further notice.

Here is a link to the statewide DNR map on burning restrictions.
