Shane Gerber attended his last meeting as a Salem School Board member on Tuesday.
Gerber had served nine years on the board. He chose not to file to run for re-election this April.
“There are some good things going on here,” Gerber said in a statement at the end of the meeting. “Let’s keep them up and make Salem the best school out here.”
“Education is not just a line item on the agenda, it’s the only item,” Gerber said.
Here video of Gerber’s entire statement:
Earlier in the meeting, former board member Steve Brown read a letter from longtime board member Cathy Krueger, who Gerber replaced on the board.
“Shane there is so much you have accomplished for the district,” Brown read from Krueger’s letter. “You need to know that you have done me proud.”
