Brighton Elementary School celebrated student achievement Thursday, February 13.

Two award ceremonies were held in the gymnasium. The first ceremony included the Kindergarten to fourth grade while the second celebrated the fifth through eighth grade. Awards were given to honor those students with accomplishments in Art, Music, Physical Education, Character, Skills and Academics.

Brighton Elementary has always honored the students with awards in the past, but this year it was decided, by the PBIS team, that it should be even grander. The stage was adorned with purple cloth, the staff dressed in their best attire, and rows of students in chairs eagerly waited to hear if their name would be called. Many Brighton parents attended to take photos and videos of their children accepting awards.

After each ceremony the students, staff and parents celebrated with a reception of baked goods and juice, set up and donated by the Brighton PTO.
