You knew the bitter cold was coming, but did you know about the snow?
A National Weather Service forecast for our area updated at 7:53 p.m. today says we could get up to 2 inches of snow tonight and up to another inch tomorrow. Where did that come from?
Well out west actually. A NWS winter weather advisory in effect for our area until 6 p.m. Sunday says a low pressure system moving northeast is the culprit. The highest amounts will be right along the Wisconsin-Illinois border in Kenosha County. Lucky us!
Now don’t forget about the cold. While the temperature at about 6:50 was 29, it should start dropping. Tonight’s low of 8 will be Sunday’s high. A wind chill warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday until noon Tuesday.
By Thursday, there may be some appreciable warming, with a high in the upper 20s in the forecast.
