Winter weather advisory issued for New Year’s Eve-New Year’s Day

We are likely to get more snow over the next few days.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. Tuesday to midnight New Year’s Day.

The snow will start tonight with about one inch of accumulation, according to the NWS local forecast. Snow should stop during the day, but re-start Tuesday night with a total accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. More snow is likely Wednesday for New Year’s Day with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible. during the day and another 1 to 2 inches Wednesday night. There’s still more snow in Thursday’s forecast with another 1 inch of accumulation possible.

Regionally speaking, the most accumulation is expected along the Wis-Ill border.

Temps will remain cold through this snowy stretch. Tuesday’s high of 22 will be the warmest it gets.
