Josh Wang, a senior music major from Bristol, has been selected as a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 2013-14 Chamber Singers.
The group is the top choir specializing in classical music on campus, with students of all majors chosen after a two-day audition process that tests their musical literacy and skills.
“The Chamber Singers are continuing on a higher level of vocal performance this year,” said Robert Gehrenbeck, adviser. “Throughout the season, we’ll be performing songs from different continents, some of them sung in different languages that demonstrate the universal skills these students possess.”
The UW-Whitewater Chamber Singers travel throughout the Midwest during the season, visiting Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.
“This is one of the best choirs I’ve seen in years,” said Gehrenbeck. “The freshmen and veterans are blending well together, creating great energy and becoming more excited daily to share their talents with the rest of the world.”
