On Friday, Nov. 8, Westosha Lakes Church, along with Central High School students, community organizations, businesses, and churches in the area will come together to provide approximately one week’s worth of food, including a turkey and all the trimmings, for families who would appreciate this special gift during Thanksgiving time. This is a free, no-strings-attached service to the community.
The organizers understand that it may be hard to indicate a need or a desire for a food basket, so they are providing an anonymous approach. If you have not already received a letter or signed up at another organization, please call 843- 1948 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. You do not need to give your name, simply state that you saw the information on westofthei.com and give the number of people in your household, and you will be given a confirmation number. On Friday, Nov. 8, beginning at 5 p.m., you will go to Central High School, pull up behind the school via the new road from highway 83, and give the attendant your confirmation number. Your basket of food will be delivered directly to your car. No names are taken, just your assigned number.
The deadline to sign up by calling 843-1948 is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Remember, pickup begins at 5 p.m. on Nov. 8.
