Casey Merrill makes UW-Whitewater cross country team

Casey Merrill, a sophomore psychology major from Salem, has made the 2013 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men’s cross-country team. The Warhawks are currently halfway through the season, improving each week and building up motivation to succeed. “We’re enjoying the season and witnessing improvement along the way,” said Jeff Miller, head coach. “Our players have a good support system among one another, helping the team improve and allowing them individually to succeed as well.” When the men are not competing, they’re giving back to the community. The UW-Whitewater men’s cross-country team participates in campus events like Make A Difference Day and Reading with the Warhawks, along with providing assistance to the local high school cross-country program. The Warhawks will compete in the Brooks Invitational on Oct. 19 in Winneconne, at 11:15 a.m.
