Boy Scout Gerald Ehr was recognized by the Wheatland Town Board Monday for his Eagle Scout project, which was organizing a volunteer effort to paint a town park building.
Ehr, who lives in Wheatland, was looking for an Eagle Scout project when he noticed that the food stand building at New Munster Park needed painting. He approached the Town Board about doing the work and got that body’s blessing. He then organized a group of volunteers, calculated the amount of paint needed, purchased the paint and washed, prepped and painted the building on July 20 and 21.
At Monday’s meeting, Ehr was presented with a resolution recognizing his achievement signed by the Town Board.
“It was an excellent job and done in a timely manner,” the resolution read in part.
