The placement of two diesel back-up generators at the We Energies natural gas generator plant on 172nd Avenue in Paris was approved by the Paris Town Board Tuesday night.
The 3,000 kW generators are to supply power to the natural gas powered peak demand turbines at the facility. Once the turbines are running the generators shut off.
We Energies officials say they do not expect neighbors to experience noise problems from the generators.
The Town Board unanimously approved the conditonal use permit addition necessary for the placement of the generators. The town Planning Commission had previousily approved the CUP permit change as well.
The matter will now go to the county for final approval.
