I travel highway 45 quite frequently. Something I have noticed is alot of these semi trucks are taking 45 to avoid the weigh station. I know this because they exit highway 173 in Illinois, travel west to 45 and up to highway 5045 and head back east again…doesn’t seem to make too much sense. I think they should have a weigh station on 45 myself.

I was there and almost got hit by the guy! I was traveling south on 45 pulled out into intersection to turn left. Saw a dump truck with a trailer full of stuff traveling north swerve around the Car at the light, swerve to miss the gold car going south thru the intersection. And swerved to miss me…thought we were gonna die. He then hit the light and went a good 40 to 50 ft into the nw corner. Was going at least 55 and didn’t seam to break. He got out right away so seamed to be OK. My daughter and I are just glad to be here tonite!.

You know why is everyone out there trying to blame the truck drivers. I see a lot of stupid idiotic things that people in cars do. Think about all the construction going on on the interstate if you were a semi truck driver would you not like to avoid all the stop and go on the interstate and the lane changing. I think these truck drivers are avoiding some dangerous traffic patterns on the I and a lot of Illinois drivers that always feel they have to be first and also drive like crazy people out on the highway in Wisconsin. Think as a bus driver I would put my life in an 18 wheelers hands before I would a four wheeler. People drive irregardless of any ones life and no consideration on the highways today. SLOW DOWN THE LIFE YOU SAVE MAY BEYOUR OWN OR YOUR CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT, Stop blaming the truckers for your stupidity. Remember the distance between you and the car ahead is LIVING ROOM. If you can not see a bus or trucks side mirrors you are to close behind him or her, BACK OFF.
