Special Olympics Polar Plunge 2011 coverage

Hundreds of warm-blooded souls — including several from Western Kenosha County — were freezin’ for a reason at the 2011 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics at Lake Andrea in Pleasant Prairie Saturday.

Plungers collected pledges in exchange for a plunge into the icy water. All the money raised goes to support Special Olympics, including participants throughout Kenosha County. Special Olympics conducts athletic contests and training for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
