Wheatland Easter Egg Hunt coverage

The anxious egg hunters prepare to hit the field at New Munster Park.

The Town of Wheatland Fire Department Auxiliary hosted its second annual Easter Egg Hunt today at New Munster Park.

This was the auxiliary’s second year of hosting a Easter Egg Hunt. The big crowd they drew last year was bested this year. Just to be safe, organizers counted the number of participants and asked each hunter to collect only 10 eggs. The kids around me were very conscientious about just getting their limit (you can hear some of them counting their eggs as they pick them up in the video below) but they were given the “go for it” when it was clear that there were many eggs left over even after the 10 egg limit was filled.

Those who locate prize eggs received special prizes.

Besides the egg hunt, there were live animals to pet and a Wheatland fire engine to explore.
