Two vehicle crash at Highways 45 and 50

Emergency units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a two-vehicle accident at Highways 45 and 50 in Bristol at 11:15 a.m.

One person is reportedly entrapped in an SUV, scanner transmissions said.

UPDATE 11:17 a.m. — Both vehicles are reportedly in the south ditch along Highway 50.

UPDATE 11:20 a.m. — Rescue squads responding from Bristol and Salem.

UPDATE 11:24 a.m. — Flight for Life helicopter being requested. There is a landing pad at the County Center, which is adjacent to the scene.

UPDATE 11:57 a.m. — Three people transported from the scene for treatment of injuries, one by Flight for Life.

UPDATE 12:01 p.m. — Sheriff’s deputies will be shutting down Highway 50 at the scene of the accident to gather evidence.

UPDATE 12:08 p.m. — Crash scene is east of the intersection in eastbound lanes of Highway 50, approximately across from the entrance to the County Center.

UPDATE 12:10 p.m. — Eastbound Highway 50 being shut down now by Sheriff’s Department and Bristol Fire Department.
